Social Mobility & Education

At Weil, we believe that fair access to the legal profession is not only the best way to recruit exceptional trainees, but is also the best way to connect with our community. In the UK, Weil’s structured approach helps young people, schools and vulnerable people to reach their potential. From trainees to senior partners, everyone at Weil is encouraged to contribute to our social mobility programmes in the voluntary sector, using their skills and experience to help build confidence and aspirations in the community. A snapshot of programmes we support include:

  • Inspiring the Future connects our partners and employees with state schools to deliver career talks, CV workshops and mock interviews
  • SGOSS (School Governors One Stop Shop) places partners and employees in school governor roles in schools in low-income areas of London
  • Charity trustee recruitment service
  • Benefacto facilitates team building volunteering opportunities across 35 small charities in London. Opportunities include facilitating CV workshops for jobseekers, providing IT tuition for the elderly, and helping homeless people become job-ready
  • Youth Mentoring Programme with Teens & Toddlers
  • Rare contextualising tool
